Novel Review : Hater

Alhamdulillah I finally finished reading a novel (my very first english novel) in just a week.So I'm pretty excited (and proud) of myself hehe.Thank you MADPP for making me read (finally).

So roughly this book is about a war between US (the Haters) and THEM (the normal people).Everyone, irrespective of gender, age, race, religion or sexuality has the potential to become one of the victim (normal people) - or the Hater. The main character (Danny McCoyne) was a normal person, living with his wife,Lizzie and three children. Once the Haters started to make trouble in the country by killing others (including their own family members),the public are advised to stay at home and protect their family members from the Haters. However, anyone could be a murderous - even an innocent 5-year-old little girl.No one has the answer why the 'hate' virus spread so fast and how the virus is spread.

One day, Danny woke up and feel thirsty so he walked to the kitchen to get some water. He found out that his father in law (Harry) was in the kitchen too.Danny had no idea why,but when he looked inside Harry's eyes,he has an instinct that Harry wanted to kill him.So he grabbed a knife and killed Harry without thinking any further.Lizzie saw his action and ran away with the children. That is when Danny realized that he had become the Hater.

Danny understands the feeling of being a Hater.Basically they kill others because they feel that the public wants to kill them. It is just a reaction to defence themselves from being killed. And the rest you can read by yourself especially the ending HAHA.

I would give 7/10 rating for this novel ( I cannot compare this novel with other novels because this is my very first novel ).But I dissatisfied that the author did not mention how the 'hate' virus being spread and who was the culprit (who I could say very irresponsible of what he had done). And the authorities had not done their best to cope with the trouble. They should find a cure for the virus or at least separate the normal people from the Hater. I believe that the Hater could not thinking wisely, that is why they kill others. It is not their fault,so it is unfair if the authorities to murder the Hater.
